- Mobile and fixed pulley
The science behind this experiment
If you move a pulley from the initial position to another one you will see that the pulley moves simultaneously in the other direction. The pulley moves only half the distance that the clamp moves.
Equipment used
- Pulley with hook — 4112.10
- Cylindrical masses with hook (50, 25, 10g) — 4111.08-10-12
- Multifunction support rod, rounded ends,with holes, length 350 mm — 5408.91
- Tubular spring balance (plastic),5 N — 4110.21

This experiment is part of the ATP Mobile Lab — a self-contained laboratory that turns an ordinary classroom into a working science lab, with over 200 experiments in physics, chemistry, biology, robotics and engineering. Gali, the AI tutor built into ATP Connect, guides students through each step and answers their questions at the bench.
